Cookie policy

A small file a site stores in your browser so it can recognise that browser on a later visit. It gives no access to your files, your camera or your location; it is used to count visits, remember a preference and pick an ad.

Some are set by us, others by companies that deliver part of the page — that is the case for the ads, the video player and the map on place pages.

Pages about a place (a destination, a city, a station, a bus terminal) end with a Google map, and some pages carry a video at the end. Both are third-party content: they load only when the page reaches them, and the video uses YouTube’s no-tracking-cookie domain until you press play.

If you block third-party cookies, the text, the prices, the addresses and the timetables all stay on the page. What may not appear is the map and the video.

This site serves readers in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Austria and Italy. In those regions, and in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, personalised advertising may only be shown with consent gathered by a platform certified to the industry standard. That is why a notice asks first in those regions — and your answer counts: refuse and the ads stay, but without personalisation.

Outside those regions you can switch personalisation off at any time in your Google account ad settings or through the industry opt-out tools listed on the privacy page.

Every browser can delete stored cookies and block new ones, per site or in general. Look for "cookies" or "site data" in your browser settings.

Blocking everything does not break this site: you still read every page, with every price and timetable. What may stop working is the map, the embedded video and the audience count.
